Role Summary

DWS is seeking a Director-level Enterprise & Domain Architect to lead architecture strategy and governance across core technology platforms supporting asset management with the main focus on Corporate Functions and horizontal capabilities. This role will define architectural standards, drive platform modernization & standardization, and ensure alignment with business and technology goals. This role requires deep understanding of portfolio management business & platforms, and advanced knowledge of cloud-native data engineering platforms like Snowflake and GCP.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Strategy

- Define and lead enterprise architecture vision across investment domains and identify horizontal capabilities and opportunities to standardize including liquid, illiquid, passive, active, and alternatives.
- Collaborate with Corporate Functions, investment, operations, and engineering teams to align architecture with strategic goals.
- Drive adoption of architecture principles, reference models, and reusable patterns.
- Lead domain architecture initiatives across data, application, and integration layers.

Technology & Delivery

- Architect scalable, secure, and resilient solutions across enterprise platforms with focus on Corporate functions and horizontal enablers supporting portfolio construction, trade lifecycle, order management, and performance analytics.
- Implement APIs and event-driven architecture for real-time data exchange.
- Guide modernization efforts including cloud migration, microservices, and automation.
- Ensure architectural compliance with security, regulatory, and operational standards.

Platform Expertise

- Deep understanding of platforms supporting asset management and its regulation including Aladdin, SimCorp, and Snowflake.
- Experience with data ingestion, portfolio analytics, and integration patterns across liquid and illiquid assets.
- Enable data democratization and self-service analytics through architectural design.

Governance & Risk

- Embed architecture governance into development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, and data governance teams.
- Support internal and external audits through architectural documentation and controls.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

- 20+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or software engineering, preferably within asset/investment management or capital markets.
- Expertise in cloud-native platforms SAP BTP (incl Hana), GCP, microservices, APIs, CI/CD, and IaC.
- Proficiency in modern development stacks (Python, Java, Scala, Node.js).
- Experience with Springboot, Kafka, Camunda, and container-based applications.
- Knowledge of GCP services: GKE, Cloud Run, Composer, Dataproc, Dataflow.

Domain Knowledge

- Strong understanding of Corporate functions in a fiduciary environment and of financial instruments: equities, fixed income, alternatives, private equity, private credit, and structured products.
- Experience in both passive and active investment strategies.
- Familiarity with NAV, position and cash management, pricing, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience working with portfolio managers, risk, compliance, and operations teams.

Leadership Skills

- Proven experience leading architecture teams in global organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting strategy and architecture roadmaps to senior executives.

Educational & Technical Qualification Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- More than 10 years’ experience in enterprise architecture and full-stack development.
