  • As Solution Architect in TDI Private Bank Germany Banking you will be responsible for the conception and definition for a significant segment of our Banking IT platforms understanding its architecture dependencies and provide guidance to the development areas to design, build, test, and deliver high quality software solutions.
  • Banking covers the business functionality for product advisory, onboarding, transaction life-cycle management including interfaces to risk, finance, treasury, and payments. Our products are cash accounts, call money, term deposits, saving plans and cards.
  • A key element in this context is the translation of functional and non-functional business requirements into an appropriate technical solution design, leveraging best practices and consistent design patterns.
  • You will contribute to the definition of our IT strategy, its implementation and ensure that the strategic target blueprints are realized.
  • Our professionals must have the ability to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, to balance long-term projects while maintaining urgency on operational demands.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support projects and initiatives in the Banking area and provide guidance to the software delivery units to design, build, test, and deliver high quality software solutions in line with business requirements.
  • Define the technical architecture of IT solutions in line with functional and non-functional requirements on hybrid cloud, GCP and legacy platforms (like IBM mainframe or SAP) in line with functional and non-functional requirements, following consistent design patterns and best practices including design of front ends, business logic, REST-services, event streaming, data persistence and interfaces to other domains
  • Ensure that the solution design is in sync with TDI Private Bank blueprints and principles, as well as with overarching DB architecture and security standards.
  • Create appropriate solution proposals, design decisions and technical design documentation and ensure this is kept up to date.
  • Serve as a counsel to designers and developers and carry out reviews of software designs and high-level / detailed-level design documentation.
  • Work closely with Cloud engineers, developers, DevOps engineers to design solutions
  • Cover all aspects of the solution architecture like Maintainability, scalability, effective integration with other solutions, usage of shared solutions and components where possible, optimization of the resource consumption, efficiency.
  • Collaborate with relevant technology stakeholders within other squads and across tribes to ensure the cross-squad and cross-tribe solution architecture synchronization and alignment

Your skills and experience

  • 15+ years of experience in IT industry with at least 5 year of track record as a Solution Architect
  • Proven experience in applying modern architectural patterns including REST APIs, Micro Services and event-driven architectures.
  • Good design skills in JAVA, Python, Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub and significant hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and cloud-native development.
  • Strong understanding of security principles (e.g., OAuth, zero-trust) and the ability to build up knowledge related to new technology / solutions in an effective and timely manner.
  • Very good analytical skills and ability to oversee/structure complex tasks and experience in defining the high-level and low-level technical solution designs for complex initiatives.
  • Proven ability to balance business demands and IT capabilities in terms of stability, standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.
  • Should have pragmatic approach and able to express opinions around systems design to influence best solutions or challenge inappropriate approaches
  • Good to have experience in migrating applications
  • Good communication & presentation skills. German speaker will be an advantage, but not mandatory
