This role involves building scalable, secure cloud infrastructure from the ground up to support a systematic trading team in Abu Dhabi. The engineer will work with modern cloud technologies, networking, containerisation, and monitoring tools in a highly collaborative environment.

Scalable, reliable, secure cloud infrastructure is what sits at the heart of a systematic trading team in Abu Dhabi. The work that you’ll be doing is crucial to the success and profitability of this team. After all, if the systems are down, that’s time out of the market and time out of market means money lost.

Besides how important this function is in the team, you’ll have the luxury of not being weighed down by heavy, monolithic, aging systems which aren’t fit for purpose; you’ll be building cloud infra from the ground up for maximum up-time.

Typically a successful addition to this team will look like someone comfortable with:

  • CI/CD experience
  • Strong networking skills (managing core components, layer 0)
  • Leveraging K8s for containerisation
  • Cloud security practices
  • Using Prometheus / Grafana for observability / monitoring
  • Python coding

Expect to build systems which handle huge amounts of data, in a highly-collaborative culture with some of the sharpest minds in systematic trading.

Abu Dhabi is the emirate known for its peace. Couple this with year round sunshine, the ability to work remotely during the notorious UAE summer as well as being the world’s safest city; there’s not much not to like.

Whilst experience working in finance before is not a prerequisite, what is important is that you’ve built infrastructure from scratch before.
