Position Description:

Develops resilient software applications for Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in Spring Boot, hosted on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Works with Cloud services and Amazon Web Services (AWS), Datadog, and Splunk to host and monitor endpoints. Deploys and develops Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes, using Jenkins and Terraform pipelines for software code updates. Defines and run quality code implementation for sophisticated architectural designs and technology initiatives. Crafts event driven solutions using Kafka. Writes unit test cases for software quality assurance using Selenium and Junit. Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation, using Automated test frameworks (Cucumber). Designs Cloud applications according to business requirements, architecture standards, and Agile methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, tests, deploys, and maintains software to build and improve customer-facing software solutions.
  • Defines requirements, constructs software solutions, and performance testing.
  • Brings products through the entire software development lifecycle from conception to production.
  • Implements testing standard methodologies.
  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposing modifications and improvements based on user need.
  • Determines system performance standards using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Implements cross-functional collaboration to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure timely delivery, quality assurance and advocate for automation tooling enhancements.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing and designing optimized software systems and applications, using Python, JavaScript, or Golang.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing and designing optimized software systems and applications, using Python, JavaScript, or Golang.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing Cloud platforms in AWS and RESTful Web Services to support Brokerage platform processing, using Java, IntelliJ, Git, SonarQube, and Load Balancers; performing real-time data ingestion and analytics using AWS services and Storage (S3 buckets); performing transactions in core brokerage name and address domain, and supporting customer facing applications, using Native Databases (Relational Database Service (RDS) or DynamoDB); and performing database queries to extract brokerage customer information from Oracle database, using Native Store procedures and PL/SQL.
  • DE developing and deploying highly available, scalable, and secure applications using AWS, Java, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Docker; participating in every stage of the software development processing – planning, gathering requirements, development, testing, quality assurance, deployment, and production support – by applying Agile methodologies (Scrum and Extreme programming) and Agile Project Management; and creating, maintaining, and monitoring distributed applications, using API Gateways and Cloud Services (EC2 and EKS).
  • DE monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on system performance, service level indicators, and metrics by implementing observability tools – Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, or Logging; performing account and customer data retrieval, and writing stored procedure for data distribution, using Oracle and Cockroach DB; and performing executions that automatically scales and charges for execution time using Serverless functions (Lambda and Step Functions).
  • DE developing CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure deployment to streamline the Continuous Delivery (CD) process, Artifactory, and automation status result dashboards, using Terraform, Git, Jenkins, and uDeploy; and developing Jenkins pipeline automation using Terraform.
