Site Reliability Engineer

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and play a key role in building, maintaining, and scaling our cloud-based platform. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, reliability, and scalability of our platform infrastructure utilizing technologies like Kubernetes, Kafka, containers, and automation tools. You will work closely with other systems engineering teams (Windows, Database, Storage, VMware) to further develop a coherent and robust infrastructure.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and implement platform solutions utilizing containerization technologies (Docker, etc.) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes)
• Deploy and manage cloud-native applications on the platform using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
• Build and maintain automation tools and scripts for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments
• Implement and manage industry standard monitoring solutions to collect and analyze platform metrics for performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Integrate and manage message streaming platforms like Kafka for real-time data pipelines
• Collaborate with developers and operations teams to ensure a smooth development and deployment lifecycle
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the cloud-native space and identify opportunities for improvement

What You Need to Succeed

• Proven experience working as a Platform Engineer or similar role in a DevOps environment
• In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, etc.) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
• Experience with automation tools (Bash scripting, Python, etc.) for infrastructure management
• Experience with monitoring tools for infrastructure and application health
• Experience with distributed systems such as Kafka, Kubernetes, Hazelcast, or hadoop a major plus
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
