The Development Manager will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and resilient software applications to meet banking performance and security standards. This role requires collaboration across teams, automation of build and deployment pipelines, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will bring significant experience in software development, DevOps, and banking industry standards.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and engineer software with a focus on enhancing the customer/user experience to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop software, scripts, and tools that enable the delivery of the bank’s products and services.
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient applications that meet performance, availability, and security requirements.
  • Automate build, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality code and minimise variation across environments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant controls, standards, and Service Management Standards.
  • Maintain high data quality in Service Management systems of record.
  • Support the identification and resolution of incidents associated with IT services.
  • Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and recovery time objectives are met for all software solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with current tools, technologies, and areas like cybersecurity, data privacy, consent, IT governance to ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile).
  • Expertise in software development, security practices, and DevOps tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of performance, availability, and resilience requirements for banking applications.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, consent, and IT governance regulations.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools (e.g., Alicloud or others).

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, preferably in the financial industry.
  • Experience in designing and developing scalable, secure, and resilient applications.
  • Hands-on experience with automation of build, testing, and deployment processes (CI/CD pipelines).
  • Experience in DevOps practices and tools, including scripting, infrastructure as code, and cloud deployment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Experience in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and Service Management frameworks.
  • Experience in bank wealth related initiatives is a strong advantage
