Hands-on consultant specialist responsible for implementing and optimising digital experience monitoring using Aternity, converting reactive workflows into automated self-healing and defining SLIs/SLOs with measurable scorecards. The role leads POCs, ensures security and compliance for integrations, mentors junior analysts, builds analytical dashboards, and collaborates across global endpoint, app packaging and security teams.

Some careers shine brighter than others.

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC and fulfil your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with Service Desk / Operations to transition reactive workflows into automated self-healing; measure MTTR reductions and avoided incidents.
  • Define and refine experience SLIs / SLOs; establish baselines and improvement targets, publishing periodic scorecards.
  • Contribute to capacity and performance optimization for DEX agents (overhead analysis, configuration tuning, rollout governance).
  • Lead proof-of-concept (POC) assessments for new IQ features or comparative DEX tooling; produce selection and ROI justification reports.
  • Ensure security and compliance alignment (privilege boundaries for run actions, credential hygiene, OAuth2 / API integration governance).
  • Provide mentoring to junior analysts on scripting standards, metric interpretation, and dashboard quality.
  • Collaborate across global, cross-functional teams (endpoint engineering, app packaging, security operations, cloud platform) in distributed time zones.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies; shape backlog prioritization tied to quantifiable experience impact.

Qualifications - External

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Deep hands-on expertise with Aternity (IQ features, custom monitors, run actions, remediation design, API / data feeds).
  • Strong PowerShell scripting (event log parsing, registry/state inspection, remediation orchestration, REST/OAuth2 integration).
  • Experience building analytical dashboards (Aternity widgets, Tableau, Power BI) including performance, stability, adoption, and comparative views.
  • Working knowledge of at least one additional DEX / EUEM platform (Nexthink or Systrack): feature comparison, migration considerations, data model differences.
  • Proven ability to translate user experience degradation into actionable telemetry and automated fixes.
  • Advanced troubleshooting across endpoint subsystems (CPU / memory / disk IO / network stack / graphics / login / profile / collaboration apps).
  • Service management familiarity (incident / problem / change) with structured RCA and improvement tracking (ITIL aligned).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement: requirement elicitation, expectation management, outcome reporting.
  • Experience producing technical runbooks, playbooks, and operational standards with measurable KPIs.
  • Clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences; global collaboration comfort.
  • Ability to work autonomously while coordinating deliverables in an agile backlog (Jira / Confluence usage).

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
