We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Splunk Lead.

In this role, you will:

  • Support a large Splunk service with HSBC with over 5000 internal users spread globally and varying levels of product experience.
  • Take a leading role in a team of Splunk and automation engineers to ensure goals are defined, outcomes agreed and progress managed to ensure success.
  • Ensure the Splunk service continues to meet the requirements of a highly demanding and regularly evolving operational and compliance landscape.
  • Be capable of supporting internal customers, either directly or by supporting other members of the team with requests for:
    • Data onboarding via Universal Forwarder, HEC, DB Connect, Heavy Forwarder
    • Dashbords, Apps, Saved Searches fulfilment
    • Production Support.
    • Splunk expertise
  • Work with users to ensure their needs are in line with agreed designs and can be supported within the constraints of license, platform size and support arrangements.
  • Keep team documentation up to date with changes to infrastructure, artefacts, designs and ways of working.
  • Identify and implement optimisation of workload and the overall service to reduce unit cost and improve performance.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps for the Spunk services.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Hold an active Splunk Core Certification
  • 4+ years of Splunk experience.
  • 5-10 years of overall industry experience as a technology practitioner (in IT Operations).
  • Experience with Splunk Enterprise, IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) and Observability principles
  • Experience in requirements gathering around the Splunk tool, documenting requirements, requirement analysis, product testing, etc.
  • Experience with hosting infrastructure required to deliver a highly available and performant Splunk environment, including server specification, Linux OS admin, networking, firewalls and storage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
