As an IT Operations Engineer, you’ll manage infrastructure, operating systems, respond to incidents, keep the environment secure, and automate repetitive tasks. You will handle infrastructure management (Linux servers, lifecycle, provisioning) and automation (bash/python scripts) to improve reliability and performance. You’ll implement log management and monitoring with ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana, coordinate incident and change management, and support IT service delivery and disaster recovery planning. You’ll work with CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS) to ensure system availability.

Working as an IT Operations Engineer, you’ll be managing infrastructure, operating systems,responding to incidents, keeping the environment secure and automating repetitive tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• infrastructure management

  • managing Linux machine servers
  • lifecycle management of the server
  • create and maintain servers
  • proficient in bash or python for automation

• automation

  • scripting knowledge to automate repetitive tasks
  • building and integrating tools that will assist in improving system availability,

reliability, and performance

  • utilizing CI/CD tooling to automate (Azure DevOps , Jenkins and Github actions)
  • scripting knowledge to automate repetitive tasks

• log management, monitoring and troubleshooting

  • performance monitoring and trend analysis
  • proactive identifying problem areas of a system, i.e. software bugs, misconfigurations and bottleneck
  • using ELK stack , Prometheus and Grafana as our toolset

• incident,  problem management and change management

  • coordinating incident management and service restoration
  • creating support ticket/requests to other teams

• service level management

  • proactive monitoring and adherence to SLAs
  • holding IT Engineering, Security and Architecture accountable for remediation of any SLA degradation
  • provide 2nd level support and technical advice to teammates

• IT Key Controls

  • ensuring that IT is ‘in CONTROL’ by holding IT groups accountable for adherence
  • collating and providing necessary evidence to Auditors for these controls
  • creation of documentation, presentations and operations manual

• disaster recovery (DR) & business continuity planning (BCP)

  • participation in BCP
  • high availability and resilience patterns

• vulnerability management

  • updating core application via pipeline or playbooks
  • updating operating system critical/important system updates religiously

Key Capabilities/Experience

  • work comfortably with Linux Server (VM or Containerized)
  • comfortably write or develop automation scripts (bash and python)
  • worked with kafka related tools or microservices eg. zookeeper etc
  • worked with Jenkins, Github actions and Ansible
  • run and deploy applications in a private and public cloud (azure and aws)
  • continuously integrate and deploy (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • work and analyze aggregated logs using ELK stack
  • knowledgeable with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
  • able to troubleshoot in every level of from network to application
  • knowledgeable with infra as code (terraform)
  • comfortable working with Service Now and Azure Devops as service management tools
