Join ING Hubs Romania as a .NET Software Engineer within the Global Engineering Platform. The Mission

The Global Engineering Platform is one of the strategic initiatives which enables ING to become one global bank. This is done with providing a way of working to all ING engineers in more than 40 different countries with a software collaboration and delivery platform which supports the one way of working.

The purpose of Global Engineering Platform is to enable ING to be within its IT Risk Appetite and to reduce the cost of compliance for ING and each individual DevOps teams by providing solutions for entity wide IT Risk controls. We assist our ING Engineers Globally in being successful by providing them a compliant CI/CD pipeline on which they can rely on for the bulk of the IT Risk and IT Security Controls.

The goal of the team is to help build automation solutions and optimize the development process so that ING developers worldwide can focus only engineering. Maintaining and creating various frameworks in the world of continuous integration & delivery and code scanning are some of the themes of which the team is responsible of.

Your Day-to-Day

The team develops, implements and roll-outs a platform which enables all ING teams worldwide to do continuous delivery. As a .NET Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining existing or new frameworks as part of the engineering journey, together with the rest of the colleagues in the tribe.

Your focus will be:

  • Working on IT automation, focusing on developing Azure functions and Azure DevOps extensions;
  • Being an enabler in the team (by coaching, training and mentoring other team members);
  • Develop new functionalities;
  • Support and improve the existing applications;
  • Identify new market trends and translate them to features in the pipeline.

What you bring to the team

  • University degree in Computer Science or other related fields preferred; equivalent experience will be considered;
  • +3 years of proven experience in the role of .NET Developer;
  • Fluent in English;
  • You like to write simple, clean code and understand the importance of refactoring and SOLID principles. You are a big fan of design patterns;
  • You acknowledge the importance of unit testing and security principles and do not consider it as an optional practice;
  • Experience with .NET (.NET Framework or .NET Core);
  • Web development experience (Web API, JavaScript) – knowledge of web components is a plus;
  • Experience and affinity of IT Security principles: SAST-IAST-DAST and shift-left approach;
  • Experience working with Agile and Continuous Delivery approaches and best practices;
  • Autonomous in executing tasks;
  • Adaptability: adapt to changing technologies and changing business requirements, learn new skills and technologies;
  • Positive attitude and oriented towards solving problems;
  • The ability to give constructive feedback and openness to receive it as well;
  • Knowledge about secure programming (e.g. OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities).

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of banking processes and products is a plus;
  • Knowledge of docker, containers is a plus;
  • Previous experience with message brokers, preferably Kafka;
  • Previous experience with AzureDevOps pipelines;
  • Work experience in an Agile organization.
