Join the IPA Platform team within the Competitive Pricing Area to deliver real-time and batch risk metrics and simulations. You will perform incident and problem management, provide L2 production support, and identify opportunities to automate testing, deployments, monitoring, and data configurations. You will work with front-office users and trading desks across multiple locations, ensuring safe software deliveries through testing and change management. The role requires a hands-on engineer with a finance-domain background and strong collaboration skills.

The Mission
Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway tothe professionalmarkets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products,servicesand guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with anadditionalpresence in all the major international markets and specialistexpertisein selected emerging markets and products.
Within FM, in Competitive Pricing area, we have ING Pricing Architecture (IPA) platform, which consists of multiple components that enable real-time and batch calculations offinancial risk metricsandsimulations(e.g.XVA,PFE, Value at Risk,Expected Shortfall,Bilateral Margining,pre-dealderivativesPricing) which are driven by new banking regulations as well as advanced Risk analysis on the derivative product portfolio of Financial Markets (interest rates, credits, foreign exchange). This platform is in the heart of the IT landscape for our global dealing rooms and risk managers in Asia,Europeand Americas, withaprox. 30 scrum teams spread across 4 locations (Amsterdam, Brussels,Bucharestand Singapore), cooperating to evolve it towards target ING Financial Markets IT vision.
The Competitive Pricing Area, part of the FM> Tribe, seeks an enthusiastic Functional Operation Engineer, with a solid operations and techno-functional background in the Financial Markets domain.
Yourday to day
Even ifyou’llstart your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in ouroffice’sgarden, your day will be quite similarwhencomes to tasks. You will work closely with your business users and other squads to provideend to endsupporttovarious customer journeys. Your responsabilities will include:
Performing incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis todeterminethe actualfailurecause and implement structural fixes. You communicate directly with users (Traders, Credit/Market Risk Managers) on this from Amsterdam, London, Brussels,New Yorkand Singapore
Providinglevel-2support in deploying and running an application/stack in production. Willingness to work occasionally on weekends to support planned system changes and migration activities, ensuring minimal impact on business operations
Finding opportunities to automate the testing of existing features,performanceand security as well as the automation of deployments, monitoring, and more. This is a key responsibility of the Operations Engineers
Performing data improvement by (re)configuring new and existing products,reportsand processes in general.
Understanding the entirestack’stechnology on which the application runs and how it fits in the overall chain.
Build, enhance and maintain tooling and scripts to automate repetitive or error prone tasks, using the correct Event Alerts
Performing Functional testing and Change Management activities in order to ensure the safe deliveries from Test, to Acceptance and to Production environment
Offering functional incident management on a front office pricing application, used within the Financial Markets domain worldwide.
Supporting end users in using the application; enriching the back-end databases with new products, reports and scheduled tasks.
What you'll bring to the team
Education: Completed education at Bachelor/Master level
Experience: 3+ years background in Financial Markets and/or Treasury
Skills/knowledge of the following concepts/ technologies:
Experience in Financial Markets and/or Treasury (interest rate and FX derivates valuation, market risk modelling - for ex. Greeks and VaR);
Familiarity with Market Data, Derived Market Data, and Credit products;
Experience in Risk Management is a plus;
Familiar with the Financial Markets regulation is a plus;
Experience working in Agile/Scrum ;
Experience with stakeholder management; managing FM stakeholders is a plus;
Proven ability to define a set of requirements that pinpoint business challenges and identify technical and business changes required to address them is a plus;
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across different software development and the business teams;
Experience with product and service management and processes.
Tech stack:
Proficient in creating and validating SQL queries (Oracle SQL) to support business analysis, data validation, and report generation;
Knowledge of CI/CD, Azure DevOps;
Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, Confluence.
Foreign languages: English (excellent level)
