As an Architect III on the Technology Governance team at JPMorgan Chase, you will support the lifecycle of applications to ensure reliability, operational stability, and compliance with firm standards and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to define technical target states, implement and evaluate controls, manage technology risks, and drive automation to remediate recurring issues. The role requires cloud-native experience, strong programming and CI/CD skills, SDLC and security knowledge, and the ability to influence executive decision-making while building relationships across distributed teams.

As an Architect III at JPMorgan Chase within the Technology Governance team, you will expand our governance remit and support engineers in meeting firm standards and regulatory requirements throughout the lifecycle of applications and IT assets.

 

Job responsibilities:

  • Support the lifecycle of assigned applications, ensuring reliability, operational stability, and alignment with firmwide controls.
  • Support the technical target state and strategy for applications, collaborating with architecture and engineering team
  • Identify, assess, and manage technology risks, ensuring compliance with firm standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Support implementation and evaluation of effective controls, proactively monitor control effectiveness, and recommend enhancements.
  • Engage technical teams and business stakeholders to propose and evaluate technical approaches and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
  • Support efforts to enhance application resiliency, security, and performance through creative problem-solving and technical innovation.
  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with technologists, data officers, and business partners to facilitate collaboration and progress toward shared goals.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills :

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
  • 4+ years of applied experience in application management, architecture, or related technical roles.
  • Experience in technology risk management, information security, and familiarity with risk management frameworks and financial industry regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), application resiliency, and security.
  • Proven record of implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Practical cloud native experience and advanced knowledge of cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile, or other technical disciplines.
  • Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and agile methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level strategic decision-making and translate technology insights into business strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team.

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
