As a DevOps Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer & Community Banking, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Identify and analyze operational pain points and inefficiencies, proactively designing and implementing automated solutions to streamline processes and enhance developer productivity.
- Designs, develops, automates, and troubleshoots with consideration for upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Develop and implement effective systems that empower developers to innovate while ensuring adherence to firm policies and regulatory requirements
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
- Provide hands-on production support, resolve incidents promptly, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system availability
- Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve a range of technical problems
- Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
- Oversee the administration and provisioning CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance, scalability, and security across the system.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Experience in DevOps related roles
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Terraform and Application Resiliency & Security.
- Experience with system administration and automated provisioning
- Experience in logging, monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
- Hands-on experience in production support and incident management and developer support
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Proficiency in Python and Shell Scripting
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
