As Director of Architecture for JPMorgan Chase's Corporate Compliance Surveillance team, you will bridge business and technology to design and modernize surveillance solutions across Trade, eComm, and Voice domains. You will drive resilient, scalable architectures, lead modernization efforts including cloud adoption, and mentor architects and technologists while aligning with regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with senior leaders to drive complex programs, manage staffing and budgets, and advocate for diverse representation and professional development.

As Director of Architecture for the Corporate Compliance Surveillance team at JPMorgan Chase, you will serve as a strategic bridge between business and technology, leading the design and modernization of surveillance solutions across Trade, eComm, and Voice domains. You will drive the development of resilient, scalable, and innovative architectures that support the firm’s compliance objectives and ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural strategy and implementation for Trade Surveillance and eComm & Voice Surveillance platforms, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with firmwide compliance goals.
- Manage cross-functional teams to deliver modernization initiatives, including transitioning legacy systems to advanced surveillance technologies and cloud-based platforms.
- Provide high-level direction and mentorship to architects and technologists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives to drive consensus and deliver complex projects across multiple business lines.
- Oversee project delivery, documentation, and communication, ensuring timely updates and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Manage staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation for architecture initiatives.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and respect within the team, prioritizing diverse representation and professional development.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification in architecture and modernization concepts, with 10+ years of applied experience.
- At least 5 years of experience leading teams of technologists and architects, managing and solving complex technical challenges across organizations.
- Proven track record in developing and leading large, cross-functional teams supporting surveillance technology design, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
- Extensive practical experience with cloud-native architectures and transitioning legacy systems to modern platforms.
- Familiarity with surveillance technologies, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.
- Experience with Terraform and multi-cloud environments.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive complex projects and streamline outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Hands-on experience with Python, Terraform, and AWS.
- Prior experience in compliance, surveillance, or financial technology strongly preferred.
