Join JPMorgan Chase as a Lead Infrastructure Engineer responsible for network operations and infrastructure support for merchant services. You will own incident, problem and change management, vendor and client relationships, service delivery, lifecycle management and operational communications. The role requires designing, operating and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise network topologies (routing, switching, datacenter fabrics, load balancers, security and optical transport), mentoring team members, and driving service evolution. Strong hands-on experience with Cisco/Arista datacenter technologies, F5, firewalls, monitoring tools and scripting (Python/Ansible) is expected.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incident, problem, and change management, risk, vendor and client relationships, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management, and service evolution.
  • Support administrative functions required for infrastructure delivery, including planning, tracking, ordering, reporting, and consumption.
  • Execute day-to-day functional duties and define and drive MIS requirements to enhance business processes.
  • Act as the primary customer interface for daily issues and queries.
  • Demonstrate emerging leadership skills, including team leadership responsibilities.
  • Remain accountable for incident, problem, and change management, risk, vendor and client relationships, communications, service delivery, lifecycle management, and service evolution.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members and manage overall team responsibilities.
  • Develop organizational functional goals, priorities, and service objectives aligned with overall GTI strategy.
  • Participate in team talent evaluation and assist management with performance appraisals.
  • Plan, track, and manage technology infrastructure usage to optimize delivery and cost.
  • Escalate and resolve issues for 40x, 50x, and 60x level team members, advocating for customers during infrastructure or business-critical incidents.

 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Demonstrate experience in network operation production and infrastructure support, understanding network infrastructure components and their management.
  • Exhibit proficiency in multiple infrastructure technologies.
  • Apply knowledge of risk and controls landscape, ensuring compliance with company-wide standards.
  • Operate effectively within a customer-centric environment.
  • Leverage experience in banking, exchange, or technology environments within global organizations.
  • Manage large-scale enterprise network topologies, including Routing & Switching (LAN, WAN - Cisco – ASR/GSR/Nexus), Datacenter Technologies (Nexus, ASR, VXLAN, Cisco ACI, Arista Fabric), Wireless (Cisco Prime), Network Security & Services (Firewall Fortinet/Check Point), F5 Load Balancers (LTM, GTM, ASM), Proxy (Blue Coat), Optical Transport (Cisco/Ciena), with certifications preferred.
  • Specialize in multicast, low latency networks, and market data-related technologies.
  • Utilize protocol analyzers (Cpacket, BigSwitch, Wireshark, Riverbed) and capacity/monitoring management tools (Splunk, SevOne, ThousandEyes).
  • Employ scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, or demonstrate willingness to learn.
  • Understand version and revision control practices and procedures.

     

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of supported network infrastructure.
  • Understand firm systems used for tracking and managing infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain a mindset for risk and control compliance with departmental and companywide standards.
  • Employ data analytics strategies across the enterprise.
