Lead technical contributor on the Deposits platform within Consumer & Community Banking, responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud-native infrastructure and applications. Work includes delivering secure, high-quality production code, automation, and operational stability across AWS environments using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD. Lead evaluations with vendors and internal teams, drive communities of practice, and apply AWS architecture principles to ensure resilient, high-performing systems.

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING Deposits platform, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Applies 6 core pillars of AWS architecture principles to build secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure for a variety of applications and workloads
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability within a cloud environment (AWS)
- Practical cloud native experience in AWS
- Experience in Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes (EKS,ECS)
- Advanced understanding of Applicant Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within distributed cloud deployments and cloud native architectures
- Hands-on experience in Terraform, IAC, Kubernetes, Containerization, CICD pipelines, Python, Automation around infrastructure
- Hands on experience in application development using EC2, S3, EMR, Lamdba. Provision AWS resources into multiple cloud accounts through automated pipeline using Terraform.
- Experience in the AWS platform monitoring tools like Cloudwatch, Datadog for monitoring the utilization and in setting up the thresholds and performance alerts.
- Hands on experience in developing automation scripts using Python and Unix Shell Scripting.
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Experience with chaos engineering concepts and tooling.
