Join the Kubernetes product team within Infrastructure Platforms to design, engineer, and automate secure, scalable Function-as-a-Service solutions across cloud platforms. You will build and automate Kubernetes cluster lifecycle, networking, OS configuration, and platform control plane components including CRDs and operators. The role emphasizes infrastructure-as-code, modern programming languages (Go, Python, Java), and delivering customer-focused UI/UX in an agile environment.

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer in the Kubernetes product team in Infrastructure Platforms, you will join a cross-functional group that takes end-to-end responsibility for Kubernetes products at the firm.  You will be responsible for designing, engineering, and automating secure, scalable Function as a Service (FaaS) solutions across cloud platforms, leveraging modern programming languages, infrastructure automation tools, and agile development practices.

Job responsibilities

  • Engineer enhancements that traverse a varied software stack
  • Automating Infrastructure-as-code, using Terraform, VRA, ansible and other infrastructure automation tools
  • Automating networking and O/S configuration from building images, configuring file system layouts and automating BGP peering up through CRI, CNI & CSI configuration for Kubernetes clusters
  • Automating the installation, upgrade, scaling and management of a large and rapidly growing fleet of Kubernetes clusters
  • Develop custom platform control plane webhooks, CRDs and operators and more that provide a secure opinionated platform
  • Design and develop the UI & UX and put the customer at the center 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Being a culture carrier for modern development practices and agile principles including disciplined refinement and story splitting, pair programming, test driven development, and clean code.
  • Being a culture carrier for an inclusive and collaborative team-based development model that experiments and learns from setbacks.
  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages, ideally including one of Go, Python, Java, 
  • Experience working with modern private & public cloud infrastructure platforms - Kubernetes, AWS EKS
  • Terraform, Ansible and other automation tools
  • Passionate about learning new skills and technologies

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Infrastructure Architecture designs
  • Experience in GCP GKE ecosystems  a plus
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
