Job summary
As a Software Engineer II at JP Morgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Team, you design and deliver trusted technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You work as an emerging member of an agile team, gaining valuable experience while supporting the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting for technology products and systems
- Writes secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language
- Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems
- Implements and manages AWS infrastructure to support scalable and reliable applications
- Monitors system performance and troubleshoots issues using observability tools
- Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to drive secure, stable application development
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and services
- Experience in DevOps roles focused on infrastructure upgrades, cost analysis, and real-time monitoring
- Proficient in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, or Terraform
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Exposure to relational databases, preferably Oracle, and understanding of SQL/PL-SQL code
