Software Engineer II in Hyderabad on JPMorgan Chase's Consumer and Community Banking team, responsible for designing, developing, testing and delivering secure, scalable software components. Work on an agile, global team to build and maintain production code, CI/CD pipelines and containerized applications while keeping stakeholders informed. Key responsibilities include creating Docker images, onboarding applications to CI/CD, automating remediation of recurring issues, and executing builds and deployments across environments. As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking team, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering the software components of the firm’s cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will collaborate with a global team to design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality software and products, while ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of progress. A strong understanding of end-to-end software development and Agile frameworks is essential.

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, applying innovative approaches to technical challenges.
  • Write secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code from others.
  • Identify and automate remediation of recurring issues to enhance operational stability.
  • Create and maintain Docker images.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer from Development to DevOps for onboarding existing applications and build/deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to onboard new applications to the CI/CD process.
  • Execute builds and deployments across environments according to the weekly build schedule.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience in Git / Jenkins / Bamboo / Maven / Gradle / Jmeter and ability to troubleshoot its processes.
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages: Groovy / Python / UNIX Shell
  • Experience with system integration, app troubleshooting, app optimizations, server deployments, application startups, connectivity, load balancing, firewalls, app performance
  • Working knowledge of messaging technologies; JMS, MQ Series, Kafka
  • Advanced User or DBA experience with relational databases: Oracle, MSSQL, DB2
  • Experience with app containers: WebSphere clusters; Tomcat; Spring Boot
  • Working knowledge of log analysis and monitoring tools: Splunk, Dynatrace, Netcool, Tivoli, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Good understanding of SRE concepts and drive for automation

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Hand on experience with container technology using Kubernetes, Docker desired; AWS,
