As a Software Engineer III on JPMorgan Chase's Commercial & Investment Bank team in Mumbai, you will design and deliver secure, scalable cloud and on-prem infrastructure solutions. You will build and maintain AWS environments (EKS, ECS Fargate), use Terraform, and collaborate with developers, SREs and application owners to manage production platforms and diagnose issues. The role requires hands-on coding (Python preferred), shell scripting, and strong knowledge of SDLC and agile/CI-CD practices. Experience with on-prem systems, Ansible, Java/Spring Boot and messaging systems (Kafka/JMS) is a plus.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Building and maintenance of AWS environment (EKS, ECS Fargate)
- Partner with developers to help design new applications
- Building and maintenance of on-prem infrastructure (VSI/GVP)
- Collaborate with Application Owner and SRE team to manage production platform updates (FARM / AOComms)
- Help diagnose production infrastructure problems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Hands-on practical experience in AWS, EKS and Terraform
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages : Python, other can also be considered.
- Some shell scripting experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with Ansible
- Java and Spring Boot application experience
- Messaging systems (JMS, Kafka), SQL
