JPMorgan Chase is seeking a VMware NSX & vSAN Specialist to join the Base Compute team in Buenos Aires. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing VMware vSphere, NSX, and vSAN solutions across enterprise environments, including automation and disaster recovery. The engineer will troubleshoot performance and security issues, build and maintain runbooks and documentation, and support hands-on labs and certification efforts. As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Base Compute team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

        Job responsibilities

 

  • Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere, NSX, and vSAN solutions for enterprise environments.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain NSX controllers, logical switches, distributed routing, and firewall rules.
  • Create and manage vSAN clusters, storage policies, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot NSX and vSAN environments, including health checks, log analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Implement advanced NSX security features such as micro-segmentation, VPN, and integration with firewalls and IDS/IPS.
  • Automate network and storage operations using PowerCLI, REST APIs, and orchestration tools.
  • Configure and manage vSAN stretched clusters and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation, runbooks, and best practices.
  • Participate in hands-on labs, simulations, and continuous learning to stay current with VMware technologies.
  • Support certification and exam preparation for NSX and vSAN as needed

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Solid understanding of VMware vSphere fundamentals: virtualization concepts, hosts, clusters, and storage.
  • Proficiency in VMware NSX fundamentals: SDN concepts, micro-segmentation, and NSX components.
  • Experience with VMware vSAN fundamentals: software-defined storage architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with NSX installation, configuration, logical switching, routing, and firewall management.
  • Experience in vSAN deployment, management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of advanced NSX security, automation (PowerCLI, REST API), and integration with orchestration tools.
  • Experience with vSAN performance optimization and stretched cluster configuration.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and implementation using VMware tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VMware NSX and/or vSAN certifications.
  • Experience with hands-on labs and exam preparation.
  • Prior experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
