Design, build, and operate Klarna’s global edge and public infrastructure to deliver highly available, low-latency services at massive scale. Lead standardization of how public-facing services are exposed, secured, and routed globally using edge-native capabilities. Own edge security and delivery with AWS CloudFront and AWS WAF, and drive simplification of traffic flows to reduce architectural complexity. Collaborate with frontend and platform teams on edge-driven performance initiatives and improve observability across systems.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and operate Klarna’s global edge and public infrastructure to support highly available, low-latency services at massive scale

  • Lead initiatives to standardize how public-facing services are exposed, secured, and routed globally using edge-native capabilities

    • For example: defining reusable patterns so services can be made globally available with minimal bespoke configuration

  • Own and evolve edge security and delivery using AWS CloudFront and AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF)

    • For example: strengthening baseline protection against abuse while keeping latency low for real users

  • Reduce architectural complexity by simplifying traffic flows and removing unnecessary intermediaries

    • For example: enabling more direct, edge-to-service communication paths

  • Improve observability of public infrastructure across systems

    • For example: making it easy to understand how public entrypoints behave and how they relate to backend services

  • Collaborate with frontend and platform teams on edge-driven performance initiatives

    • For example: caching, prerendering, or similar techniques that move lightweight logic closer to users

Who you are

  • A specialist in edge or public infrastructure with deep, hands-on experience in AWS CloudFront and AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF)

  • Strong understanding of global traffic management, caching, TLS, routing, and failure modes at scale

  • Experienced in designing resilient and secure architectures for critical customer-facing systems

  • Experienced in security and traffic protection at the edge

    • For example: bot mitigation, rate limiting, or abuse prevention using WAF capabilities

  • Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and Terraform, with the expectation to work with both

  • Programming language: TypeScript

  • Comfortable working with serverless and managed cloud services such as AWS S3, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Functions

  • Able to reason about both infrastructure and application concerns

    • For example: understanding how frontend behavior, backend services, and edge configuration interact

  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and motivated by reducing complexity while increasing reliability

Awesome to have

These are areas you might have experience in, or be interested in growing into over time.

  • Experience with frontend engineering and modern frameworks such as React

    • For example: working with Server-Side Rendering (SSR), hydration, or performance-sensitive rendering paths

  • Knowledge of web performance optimisation techniques

    • For example: reducing time-to-first-byte or improving perceived load through caching and streaming

  • Familiarity with edge execution or serverless request-handling models

    • For example: running lightweight logic closer to users

  • Experience building or operating observability solutions for large-scale distributed systems

Please include a CV in English.
