The successful candidate will form part of a newly established team delivering a greenfield cloud-based critical market infrastructure service in a bold new venture. They will work with the business and enterprise teams to define solutions with solution architects, ensuring understanding of the solution, the implementation designs, the technology stack and alignment with goals and policies, taking a hands-on approach with development teams. Responsibilities include governance, stakeholder engagement, leading technical discussions, and mentoring the team. The role emphasizes delivering enterprise-grade microservice solutions on AWS with modern development practices.
Role Profile
The successful candidate for the role will form part of a newly established team responsible for delivering a greenfield cloud-based critical market infrastructure service in a bold new venture. This exciting opportunity requires a candidate to work with the business and the enterprise teams to work on solutions with solution architects, ensuring the individual has a full understanding of the solution, the implementation designs, the technology stack and make sure that the solution meets our goals and policies. Taking a hands-on approach with the development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the stakeholders to ensure the solution supports their goals.
Provide governance to ensure the solution aligns with enterprise policies.
Assist in the elaboration of requirements with stakeholders and transform them into IT solutions that allow the business to operate effectively and efficiently.
Participate in customer meetings, leading technical discussions and acting as a point of contact for customer tech teams.
Support the development team in defining their processes, running proof of concepts, using best practices and selecting best fit solutions.
Key Skills, Experience and Behaviours
Solid understanding of good practice in the modern end-to-end processes of defining, designing, building, testing and releasing systems
8+ years’ experience in providing solution architecture for large-scale, highly resilient systems.
Stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of staff seniority.
Experience of delivering enterprise grade microservice solutions in the AWS cloud
Excellent understanding of integration patterns, transactional systems, and databases
Able to effectively communicate complicated problems to teams with different skillsets.
Modern development practices – scrum, CI/CD, BDD, automation, IaC
Microservices, Kubernetes and Docker
RESTful API and web service design
Messaging solutions such as Kafka, SMS, SQS
Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Strong background in development, with ideally some knowledge of Java and Spring
Valuable to have experience of:
OAuth, OIDC
Snowflake
Blockchain technology
Knowledge of OTC Rates clearable products (i.e. IRS, FRA, Inflation Swap)
The successful candidate will:
Contribute to the requirements definition, refinement and prioritisation.
Manage stakeholders and run design sessions with internal and customer teams.
Author and communicate high quality designs that fulfil the business requirements.
Make selections of key technologies and patterns based on well-defined selection criteria.
Mentor and guide the team during development, providing hand-on support where necessary.
Work with other teams across the organisation to synergise good practices and designs
