Hands-on Senior Engineer with experience working within high-performance development teams to build robust test architectures and automation. The role requires significant AWS engineering experience, implementing well-architected frameworks, serverless solutions and improving platforms using AWS with Agile delivery methods. Validated experience in Python 3 for data management and AWS components, with a focus on data pipelines, ingestion, mastering and consumption. Strong QA/Automation capabilities with CI/CD integration, test data management, and crafting test cases and reports for functional and non-functional tests.

Role Profile

  • Hands on Senior Engineer with experience of working within high performance development teams

  • Significant AWS Engineering experience implementing Amazon well architected frameworks, serverless solutions and improving existing platforms using AWS technologies with Agile delivery methods

Validated Experience in below:

  • Developing solutions with Python 3, Python data management/manipulation libraries and usage of Python with AWS components

  • Working in the Data domain, covering the full data pipeline from ingestion, mastering, management and consumption/distribution of large datasets

  • Financial Services expertise preferred working with Equity and Fixed Income asset classes and a confirmed understanding of Indices

  • No-SQL and Relational databases and data analysis using SQL.

  • QA/Automation capabilities

  • Integrating Automation scripts on Continuous Integration tools for automated regressions daily.

  • All stages of the Software Development Process and Quality Assurance Life Cycle.

  • Crafting Test Cases, Test Scenarios, Test Scripts and Test reports of functional and non-functional tests.

  • Test Data Management.

Education & Work experience:

  • 5+ years of AWS and Python development engineer experience within the Financial Services and Data domains

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or IT related field or equivalent IT related experience.

IT Skills

  • Deep experience of AWS solutions incl. Step Functions, Glue, Lambda, RDS, (e.g. DynamoDB, Aurora Postgres), SQS, API Gateway, Athena

  • Direct, proven experience of the delivery and optimization of high-performance data pipelines

  • Comfortable with data analysis and SQL

  • Familiar with DevOps practises, implementation of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform, usage of CI/CD pipelines for efficient and automated test and deployment processes

  • Familiar with container technologies

Soft Skills

  • A hard-working advocate of high-quality solutions

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Utmost Attention to details with an acute quality focus demeanour and work ethics
