Purpose of Role

The Information Technology Intern provides technical support for Market Making systems by serving as the primary contact for IT Service Desk tickets and ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and network issues. It assists with monitoring and performance checks for trading platforms, while maintaining accurate documentation and knowledge base resources. By collaborating with IT teams on system updates, patches, and incident escalation, the role helps ensure stable, reliable, and efficient technology operations. This role is part of the support team, not the development team.

Responsibilities      

  • Provide technical support for Market Making systems and applications.
  • Act as primary contact for IT Service Desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end users.
  • Assist with system monitoring and performance checks for trading platforms.
  • Document and update technical procedures and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement system updates and patches.
  • Support incident management and escalation processes for critical issues.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • At all times complying with Marex’s Code of Conduct.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
  • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/or your supervisor as required.
  • To escalate risk events immediately.
  • To provide input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience:

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or software engineering is preferred but information systems / technology and data science, are accepted. 

• Experience working with AWS, SQL/NoSQL databases, and scripting in PowerShell or Python.

• Genuine interest in one or more of the program’s departmental tracks.

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship, including, but not limited to, F-1, J-1, and M-1 visa holders, as well as individuals on CPT or OPT.
