Senior Software Engineer to help scale Danske Bank's District Marketplace, building and supporting digital sales capabilities for corporate customers. You will rewrite existing Node.js microservices in C# .NET Core, review code, design features, and work with cross-functional teams in an agile environment. You will mentor junior engineers and lead priorities in a self-organizing scrum team, ensuring alignment with client needs and security standards.

We are an agile team working with digital self-service within the bank enabling our business customers to explore and find financial digital solutions.

We are a highly motivated and diverse team of members covering everything from IT, business development, data modelling and user experience.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help drive the continued scaling of our current digital sales capabilities in Danske Bank and push the status quo.

You will:

  • Play a crucial role in shaping the future of District Marketplace
  • Build and support Danske Bank digital sales capabilities
  • Participate in reviewing other developers’ code and provide constructive feedback
  • Design and discuss new technical features with developers and stakeholders
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including business analysts and stakeholders to ensure alignment with client needs and organisational goals
  • Handle project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in an agile, self-organizing scrum team
  • Support and mentor junior engineers, ensuring an environment of learning and growth

About you:

  • Experience & Role: 5+ years as a Senior Backend Developer, with substantial experience in building high-traffic, internet-facing customer applications within a complex microservices architecture
  • Core Development & Rewrite: Deep expertise in C# .NET Core to lead the rewrite of existing Node.js microservices, ensuring seamless functionality transfer, improved performance, and strict adherence to public API security standards
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Strong hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms, specifically Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift in an On-Premise environment, with the foresight to prepare for a future move to AWS
  • Messaging & Integration: Experience with enterprise messaging systems, even better if IBM MQ, with the ability to integrate these legacy queues into modern .NET Core applications
  • DevOps Modernization: Experience in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with a specific focus on migrating workflow and repositories from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise
  • Database Skills: Proficient in MS SQL Server for high-volume transactional data, with experience in query optimization and designing data access layers that support a future transition to NoSQL databases
  • Infrastructure: Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (laC) using Terraform and Vault
  • Upper-Intermediate English language skills

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 4560 EUR to 6840 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
