Join the Azure Fleet Resource Lifecycle Management team to build and operate foundational infrastructure powering Microsoft Azure. You will own and deliver software components within Azure infrastructure services, driving reliability, scalability, and operability. Proactively use telemetry, diagnostics, and testing to improve reliability and prevent production incidents, and participate in incident retrospectives and code reviews. You will design maintainable, secure, and scalable solutions and drive automation and on-call readiness.
Azure is a rapidly growing and evolving cloud platform. The Azure Fleet Resource Lifecycle Management Team builds the foundational infrastructure that powers Microsoft Azure. We design and operate systems that turn data center hardware, power, and network capacity into globally available cloud resources.
Our mission is to enable cloud services to reliably and efficiently access the resources they need to operate at scale. Engineers on this team take ownership of complex components and help drive improvements in reliability, scalability, and operability across the platform.
This role offers the opportunity to have broader technical ownership while contributing to a strategically critical area of Microsoft Cloud.
Responsibilities
Own and deliver software components or problem areas within Azure infrastructure services with minimal guidance
Proactively use telemetry, diagnostics, and testing to improve reliability and prevent production incidents
Lead or significantly contribute to incident retrospectives and long-term corrective actions
Provide high-quality code reviews that improve system quality and support the growth of other engineers
Design and implement maintainable, secure, and scalable solutions for complex scenarios
Drive improvements in automation, deployment, and operational excellence
Participate in on-call rotations as a designated responsible individual (DRI), responding within SLA expectations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of software engineering experience
OR equivalent practical experience
Experience developing software in one or more of: C#, C++, Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Python
Solid problem-solving and design fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent depth of experience
Experience owning components or services in production environments
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft and customer security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check
