Own the end-to-end delivery, installation, and transition of server infrastructure into production for the U.S. region, coordinating across data center, network, and Linux engineering teams. Manage cabling, hardware lifecycle, inventory, documentation (ServiceNow/Jira), troubleshooting, and process improvements to ensure reliable server operations.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to join our Systematic Platform: Exchange Execution and Data (SPEED) team as a Server Delivery & Data Center Operations Specialist. In this role, you will own the end-to-end delivery, installation, and transition of server infrastructure into production, with a primary focus on the U.S. region. You will coordinate across data center, network, and Linux engineering teams to ensure that newly deployed hardware is installed, cabled, documented, and handed over seamlessly. This is a high-visibility, fast-paced role with opportunities to take on expanded responsibilities in other areas of SPEED operations.
Principal Responsibilities
Server Delivery & Installation Management
Manage the end-to-end server delivery process, including ordering, tracking approvals, and coordinating delivery timelines.
Collaborate with Data Center Management (DCM) teams to schedule server installations and cabling.
Oversee the installation process, ensuring proper placement, cabling, and configuration of Dell and HP hardware.
Partner with Network and Linux Engineering teams to ensure a seamless transition of newly deployed hardware into production, including connectivity, OS installation, and validation.
Troubleshoot installation issues with DCM and other technical teams to ensure timely resolution.
Data Center Cabling, Hardware Support & Lifecycle
Ensure proper cabling and connectivity of servers in accordance with firm best practice guides and server-specific connectivity diagrams, maintaining compliance with data center standards.
Manage requests for capacity increases, additional cabling requirements, and hardware upgrades.
Maintain an inventory of server and cabling hardware, ensuring availability for BAU (business-as-usual) tasks and projects.
Support the full hardware lifecycle, including decommissioning servers and related infrastructure, ensuring proper data wiping, removal, documentation, and coordination with disposal or recycling processes in line with firm policies.
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
Function as a primary point of contact for application owners, coordinating application installations and server handovers.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Infrastructure, Application Development, Network Engineering, Linux Engineering, Data Center teams, vendors, Procurement, and Shipping/Receiving, to align on server delivery timelines and requirements.
Proactively follow up on outstanding tasks and escalate issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
Documentation & Process Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and internal wikis.
Ensure all server delivery and installation processes are well documented and adhere to organizational standards and best practices.
Adhere to and, where appropriate, contribute feedback to improve cabling best practice guides and connectivity diagrams.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the optimization of server delivery and installation workflows.
Troubleshooting, Ticket Queues & Operational Excellence
Work from established ticket queues (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) to manage requests, incidents, and changes related to server delivery, installation, and cabling.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of server and cabling issues
Monitor and address operational risks to ensure the reliability and stability of server infrastructure.
Qualifications & Skills
Technical Expertise
Solid understanding of Dell and HP server hardware.
Strong knowledge of data center cabling, including cable types, optics, and connectivity standards.
Basic understanding of network fundamentals and Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with IT service and work management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) and internal documentation platforms (e.g., wikis).
Experience & Certifications
Prior experience in a similar role within a data center, technology operations, or infrastructure team is required.
Experience working in global environments and across regions is preferred.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, Linux+, or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Dell, HP) is preferred.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
