As a Senior System CI/CD Engineer, you will maintain and advance NVIDIA's hardware development infrastructure, collaborating with hardware and system software engineers. You will design, implement, and optimize build systems for C/C++ codebases, focusing on incremental builds, parallel compilation, and performance analysis to remove bottlenecks in large-scale projects. You will develop and optimize on-premises CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, manage GitLab runners, and oversee test execution and build distribution across hardware development teams. You will lead SCM migrations from legacy systems like Perforce to Git-based repositories and integrate AI-powered workflows to enhance efficiency and automation, while defining branching strategies to support collaboration and releases.

As a Senior System CI/CD Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing our hardware development infrastructure. You'll collaborate with a team of dedicated engineers working on ambitious projects that push the boundaries of hardware and system software development. If you're a creative and autonomous engineer with a real passion for infrastructure optimization and emerging technologies, we want to hear from you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust build systems optimized for C/C++ codebases, focusing on incremental builds, parallel compilation techniques, and build performance analysis to eliminate bottlenecks in large-scale projects

  • Develop and optimize on-premises CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, while managing GitLab runners for efficient test execution and build distribution across hardware development teams

  • Lead SCM migrations from legacy systems (such as Perforce) to Git-based repositories and integrate AI-powered workflows throughout the development lifecycle to enhance efficiency and automation

  • Collaborate closely with hardware and system-level developers to optimize build performance, compatibility, and maintainability while defining branching strategies that support collaborative development and release processes

What we need to see:

  • Eight or more years of experience with CI/CD infrastructure specifically supporting hardware development teams, along with a B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven expertise migrating from legacy SCM systems (e.g., Perforce) to Git repositories, with deep understanding of on-premises/local CI/CD solutions and hands-on experience configuring GitLab runners, test execution frameworks, and build distribution systems

  • Extensive knowledge of C/C++ build optimization including parallel build techniques, incremental builds, and build caching strategies, with proficiency in build systems such as Make, CMake, Bazel, or Ninja

  • Strong experience with Windows and Linux build systems, system software development, debugging, and performance optimization, combined with outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to implement Git workflows, branching strategies, and automated testing frameworks

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Direct experience implementing AI-assisted development workflows, automation tools, and SCM bridging/mirroring solutions between Perforce (P4) and Git, including bi-directional sync strategies

  • Experience with distributed build systems, build farm management, containerization technologies (Docker, Podman), hardware verification workflows, and contributions to open-source CI/CD tools

We are widely considered to be one of the technology world's most desirable employers. If you're passionate, creative, and driven by infrastructure challenges, we'd love to have you join the team. With competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, we have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us and, due to unprecedented growth, our engineering teams are rapidly growing.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD for Level 4, and 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 5.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications for this job will be accepted at least until February 28, 2026.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.
