Qube Research & Technologies is seeking a pragmatic, commercially-oriented Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of its systems. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable systems, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and developing automation to streamline operations. You will collaborate with development teams, provide technical guidance, and help meet compliance standards in a fast-paced, data-driven finance environment.

Your future role within QRT

We are seeking a pragmatic and commercially-oriented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology and a keen interest in solving business problems. This role is crucial for maintaining the reliability and performance of our systems, ensuring they meet the high standards required in the financial industry. 

What you will do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve system reliability and performance
  • Develop and implement automation tools to streamline operations
  • Ensure security and compliance standards are met
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience in site reliability engineering or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and cloud (AWS) technologies
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or C# 
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Commercially oriented mindset with a focus on business outcomes
  • Prior experience in the finance industry is preferred but not required
