AMD Bangalore is seeking an experienced CPU Microarchitecture and Performance Modeling engineer (MTS/SMTS) to contribute to next-generation processor design. The role involves developing and evaluating microarchitectural timing simulators in C++ and scripting languages, characterizing workloads, and benchmarking across hardware platforms. The candidate will work closely with silicon design engineers, architects, and performance modeling teams to push the performance and efficiency of future AMD CPUs. A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience and strong problem-solving and communication skills are required.

MTS / SMTS SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER THE ROLE: The CPU Microarchitecture and Performance Modeling team at AMD Bangalore is looking for engineers with BTech, MTech or PhD with relevant experience of 10+ years to work on AMD’s next generation processor microarchitecture development. This team is the biggest CPU architecture and performance modeling team at AMD and is playing a very important role in AMD’s all CPU microarchitecture work. The person will be part of AMD’s highly experienced and talented team of engineers working on microarchitecture development and processor performance modeling and will work closely with AMD’s CPU and SOC performance architects. THE PERSON: A successful candidate will work with senior silicon design engineers, architects, RTL writers. The candidate will be highly accurate and detail-oriented, possessing good communication and problem-solving skills. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: Strong knowledge of computer architecture with good experience of working and developing microarchitectural timing simulator, C++ programming. Beside architecture and C++ programming knowledge, if the candidate has one or more of the following, it will be considered to be a big plus: Workloads characterization, program analysis, benchmarking using actual hardware performance counters or different tools. Knowledge of python or some other scripting language, Verilog/VHDL x86 assembly language programming Exploring microarchitectural ideas and evaluating them for AMD’s future processors Modeling various micro-architectural features on simulator and evaluating their performance.
