Join AMD as an MTS Firmware Engineer (BIOS/UEFI) working on firmware spanning pre-silicon and post-silicon for AMD SoCs. You will collaborate with firmware engineers, developers and architects across IPs to design, implement and debug firmware with a focus on PCIe, x86/x64 architecture, and low-level hardware manipulation in C. MTS FIRMWARE ENGINEER THE ROLE: We are looking for an MTS (Member of Technical Staff) Engineer with an obsession for firmware. As part of the role, this engineer will work closely with other firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in designing and implementing firmware that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs. THE PERSON: You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: In-depth knowledge of the PCIe protocol stack and familiarity with PCIe link training, enumeration, and configuration space. Proven experience in frirmware development Strong proficiency in debugging techniques using GDB and JTAG. In-depth understanding of processor architecture and embedded systems design. Excellent programming skills in C for low-level hardware manipulation. Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Python. Strong understanding of x86,x64 architecture. Experience using debugging tools like AMD HDT, ITP, and Lauterbach. Good understanding of task prioritization and inter-process communication. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of Assembly programming. Experience with the CXL protocol and knowledge of the UCIe specification. Familiarity with UEFI, ACPI, and SMBIOS specifications. Experience with Unix like operating system Knowledge of hardware design and development. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
