Firmware Engineer- Power Management will contribute to AMD Embedded firmware development for PMFW and DXIO, focusing on power management and device enumeration for embedded markets. The role requires collaboration with core firmware teams and the Platform Firmware Organization to meet product requirements, and involves design, development, testing, and release of PMFW/DXIO features. You will prepare low-level design documents and user guides, assist tier-1 customers with firmware solutions, and help the support team with firmware queries. A BS/MS in CS/CE/EE and 9-15 years of hands-on firmware experience are preferred.

Firmware Engineer- Power Management THE PERSON: We are looking for a motivated engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You should be comfortable meeting deadlines, solving complex software problems, and collaborating across teams. Strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. THE ROLE: Power Management Firmware Engineer will play key role in ensuring AMD Embedded firmware (Power Management & Device enumeration) addresses critical Embedded market segment (Networking, Storage, Automotive, Thin client) requirements performing the below: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Contribute towards AMD Embedded firmware development for PMFW, DXIO Collaborate with core firmware teams and ensuring Embedded requirements are addressed Work with Platform Firmware Organization (PFO) in conjunction with Embedded segment architects to meet product requirements Review key firmware requirement / enhancement inputs pertaining to focused Embedded markets Provide custom firmware design support for tier-1 customers by with identifying solution and providing design documents Design, develop, test, review features / releases pertaining to PMFW, DXIO firmware Provide low level design documents and user guides Assist customer support team in addressing any firmware related queries PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 9-15 years experience in hands on firmware development. Strong with C language programming Good understanding and experience with BIOS, power management and PCIe Strong knowledge of UEFI BIOS, ACPI. AGESA knowledge is a big plus Strong knowledge of platform BIOS development Good knowledge SoC power management – CPU/Device power states, hot-plug etc Firmware development & release process understanding Prior experience working with firmware design & development OS/Drivers/Software stack understanding is a plus Excellent communication and articulation skills ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
