Join Amazon's Industrial Robotics Group as a Firmware Engineer focused on SLAM and odometry within the firmware stack. You will develop and maintain firmware for SLAM and navigation, including encoder odometry, vision sensors, sensor fusion, and safety. You will collaborate with high-caliber firmware teams on critical products and apply best engineering practices, documentation, and ownership. This role spans embedded systems, Linux tooling, and robotics, building resilient solutions at massive scale.

Industrial Robotics Group is seeking exceptional talent to help us develop the next generation of advanced robotics systems that will transform automation at Amazon's scale. We're building revolutionary robotic systems that combine innovative AI, sophisticated control systems, and advanced mechanical design to create intelligent automation solutions capable of working safely alongside humans in dynamic environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of robotics and automation at an unprecedented scale, working with world-class teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotic manipulation, locomotion, and human-robot interaction.

The ideal candidate is a top-notch embedded software developer, passionate about building innovative solutions and enjoys solving problems in creative ways. As a part of the firmware development team, you will work on robotic control and safety systems to deliver features to enhance and maintain the most critical components of Amazon's Fulfillment solution. In addition to working on new products and ideas, you should demonstrate a strong ability to identify issues and show bias for action to drive resolution of these issues.

The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, ranging from experience with "big data" through to embedded systems and all points in between. This will include strong software design and implementation experience, as well as a deep understanding in some specialty areas such as SLAM, image processing, wireless, networking, and an in-depth knowledge of Linux tools and architecture.

In this position, these skills will be applied to help ensure that our robotic platforms are designed and implemented to the highest standards and built for resilience. This position will provide you with an opportunity to work across development teams to design solutions and critical products at a massive scale.
