Join Amazon's Kindle team as a Software Development Engineer to contribute to architecture, development, integration, testing, documentation, and support of C++, TypeScript, and React code across Kindle Readers and Applications. The Software Engineer will contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support of C++, TypeScript and React code across multiple digital surfaces for Kindle Readers and Applications.​

Responsible for the architecture of software solutions, working with and improving on current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, and the development of major routines and utilities.
Designing and Building new features that are highly performant.
Preparing technical requirements and software design specifications.
Insisting on best practices for software development and documentation, making sure designs meet requirements, and delivering high quality software on tight schedules.

A day in the life
This hands-on coding position will actively involve you in utilizing your engineering capabilities and technical expertise in software development. You'll gain valuable experience in effectively planning, organizing, and executing software development projects within a dynamic environment.

We are a team focused on the development, maintenance, and optimization of customer-facing features in Kindle. Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
