Lead productization efforts for Arm's automotive software stack, focusing on system-level hardening of reference software for AI-enabled compute subsystems. Provide technical leadership across firmware, middleware and application layers, develop and execute a robust software testing strategy and QA practices, and drive performance and quality improvements. Job Overview
Our automotive software team is looking for an experienced engineering lead for the productization stream. You will be focusing on system level hardening of our automotive reference software stack for our next generation compute subsystems in the context of software-defined vehicles enabled with artificial intelligence (AI). You will lead technical initiatives across engineering domains and work closely with our software leads, architects as well as program and project management to deliver robust, optimized systems that shows the outstanding capabilities of our platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for crafting, planning, tracking and implementing a robust software testing strategy and quality assurance practices, collaborating closely with developers, technology managers, and other partners to ensure high-quality product delivery. Key responsibilities include understanding the product requirements at firmware level, development of test cases, automate test cases, bring-up of known open source solutions and frameworks, setup test system and leading initiatives to continuously improve performance and quality of our software.
You will provide technical leadership and line management for a distributed software engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience with combination of software development, end to end verification and validation of firmware across semiconductor development life cycle. Hands on experience of defining test strategies, test methods, test plan etc.
- Good in programming embedded C/C++, Python, Bash/Shell scripting, and familiar with Git, Pytest, GitLab/GitHub, Virtualization software
- Deep understanding of low level firmware of embedded applications.
- Broad understanding and interest of related technologies with significant depth in specific focus areas fields.
- Leading and driving team to achieve excellent result!
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to write coherent documentation, influence, and build consensus
Desirable Skills & Qualities
- Strong debugging skills, capable of navigating complex software stacks and delivering effective solutions
- Experience in qualifying software workloads, use cases, AI / ML software stacks, and tooling
- Exposure to automotive software safety/security qualification is an added advantage!
- Good understanding of architecture and microarchitecture concepts, ideally for the Arm architecture.
