Capgemini is seeking an experienced OpenWrt-focused Software Engineer – L2/L3 Development to design and develop networking solutions with emphasis on Layer 2/3 protocols. The role requires extensive C programming in Linux environments, applying OS fundamentals to optimize performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting. You’ll troubleshoot complex technical issues and document designs and implementation details. Prior hands-on experience with OpenWrt-based routers and RDK-B integration is highly valued.

Your Role
As a Software Engineer – L2/L3 Development, you will:
- Design and develop networking solutions with a focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
- Work extensively with C programming in Linux environments.
- Apply OS fundamentals to optimize performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently or as part of a team.
- Document technical designs and implementation details.
- Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
Your Profile
- 9-12 Years of experience and understanding of OpenWrt architecture and development.
- Solid design knowledge of Layer 3/datacom features.
- In-depth understanding of datacom protocol standards (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, PPPoE).
- Very strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with OpenWrt-based routers and RDK-B integration.
- Familiarity with IP routing, NAT, firewall, and PON technologies.
