Capgemini Engineering is seeking an OpenWrt Software Engineer to design, develop and integrate Layer 3 and datacom features on OpenWrt-based embedded platforms. You will work on IP routing, NAT, firewall, and PON functionalities for next-generation routers and gateways, collaborating with hardware and QA teams to deliver robust networking solutions. The role requires strong C programming for embedded systems and hands-on experience with OpenWrt routers and RDK-B integration, with location in Chennai/Bangalore.

Your Role

As an OpenWrt Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and integrating Layer 3 and datacom features on embedded systems. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance networking solutions for next-generation routers and gateways.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and implement networking features on OpenWrt-based platforms.
  • Develop and optimize IP routing, NAT, firewall, and PON functionalities.
  • Ensure compliance with datacom protocol standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with hardware and QA teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues in embedded environments.

Your Profile

  • Strong experience and understanding of OpenWrt architecture and development.
  • Solid design knowledge of Layer 3/datacom features.
  • In-depth understanding of datacom protocol standards (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, PPPoE).
  • Very strong proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenWrt-based routers and RDK-B integration.
  • Familiarity with IP routing, NAT, firewall, and PON technologies.
