The D. E. Shaw group seeks an exceptional software developer with experience in building live trading systems or other performance-sensitive software to join its Options group. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers and quantitative analysts on complex challenges that directly impact the firm’s continued success, leveraging some of the most advanced computing resources in the world within a collegial and engaging work environment.
What you’ll do day-to-day
- Design, develop, and enhance our automated options trading system.
- Have substantial ownership and visibility as you optimize latency-sensitive trading systems and build scalable infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Play a critical role in shaping our systems and strategies in a highly collaborative and intellectually rigorous setting.
Who we’re looking for
- A bachelor’s or advanced degree is required, along with at least three years of relevant experience.
- Experience building live low-latency trading systems or performance-sensitive software.
- Prior knowledge and experience with U.S. options markets is helpful but not required.
- Proficiency in C++ or Java is preferred.
- Experience with project and/or personnel management is beneficial but not required.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $225,000 to $325,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes substantial variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
