This internship role contributes to the design, development, and enhancement of development tools (compilers, debuggers, profilers, and build systems) to support engineering workflows. As an intern, you will learn and apply skills through hands-on projects, collaborating with software engineers on debugging and toolchain tasks. You may contribute as a software developer and/or QA engineer, including creating automated tests and investigating defects. This position is based in Mexico and offers opportunities to deepen technical skills and learn best practices in software engineering.

Contributes to the design, development, and enhancement of development tools such as compilers, debuggers, profilers, and build systems that support engineering workflows. May assist in toolchain integration, performance analysis, and feature development to improve developer productivity and code quality. Works with software engineers, architects, and product teams to align tools with evolving platform needs. As an intern, learns and applies knowledge, builds skills, and explores future career opportunities through hands-on experience and projects that support Intel business goals in a collaborative environment.

We are seeking a talented student with a strong passion for programming, test automation, and a curiosity for understanding how complex systems work. Join the Application Debugger Team, for hands-on experience working on real-world debugging and development challenges.

Depending on the student's skills, interests, and learning goals, the intern will contribute as a software developer and/or QA engineer. The detailed scope of work will be tailored accordingly and may evolve over time.

In this role, the intern may be involved in activities such as:

  • Developing and maintaining debugger features, tools, or supporting infrastructure.
  • Designing, implementing, and executing automated tests to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Investigating, reproducing, and analyzing software issues and defects.
  • Collaborating closely with experienced engineers to understand system internals and debugging workflows.
  • Learning best practices in software engineering, code quality, and test methodologies.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent field.
  • 1+ year of experience with:
    • Software development and testing in C++ and/or C# WPF.
    • Computer architecture and operating systems.
    • Application debuggers like GDB.
  • Advance English level.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with configuring Linux and Windows systems.
  • Experience working with software testing.
  • Knowledge about Open-Source Software.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to deepen technical skills, gain exposure to low-level software behavior, and work within a collaborative engineering environment.

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
