Intel's Core Group is seeking a Firmware (FW) Verification Intern to help define, design, code (C++, Python), and analyze a verification environment, tests, and tools for the core PTP (Power/Thermal/Performance) manager firmware. The role involves modeling embedded hardware components in C++ (SystemC) and developing the Python-based test environment, with responsibilities including creating hardware models and firmware tests and integrating into Intel platforms and tool chains. You will work through the full firmware development cycle—from Pre-Si activities (simulation, emulation) to Post-Si activities (board bring-up)—using diverse verification techniques such as simulation and emulation. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in firmware verification, validation, and optimization within a challenging, fast-paced environment while pursuing an M.Sc. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
