Join Intel's Data Center Group as a Senior Electrical Validation Engineer to develop and validate high-speed I/O interfaces (PCIe, DDR5, PAM4 Ethernet) for the IPU/FNIC Ethernet product lines. You will perform high-frequency signal measurements, troubleshoot RF and transmission-line issues, and develop characterization and optimization test methodologies. You will define measurement assets and analysis methods, and work closely with silicon design teams, IP vendors, and standards committees to ensure product line performance. This role combines hardware and software skills with hands-on lab work in a dynamic, collaborative team.

Job Details:

Job Description:

Intel Data Center Group (DCG) team delivers best-in-class Ethernet products and is at the heart of Intel's transformation from a PC company to a company that powers the cloud and billions of smart, connected computing devices.

DCG's compelling Ethernet products move the world's data and are the foundations of cloud service and telecommunications data centers.

You will be exposed to High-Speed I/O protocols such as PCIe, DDR5, and PAM4 Ethernet, which are a part of our Ethernet Infrastructure Processing Unit (Intel IPU) and Foundation NIC (FNIC) Ethernet product lines. We propose a dynamic and flexible workplace position, working directly with highly capable design, system, and pre/post-silicon teams within the organization.

The role requires high-frequency signal measurement experience and a good understanding of RF circuits and electromagnetic wave propagation.

It includes learning protocol specifications and signal-integrity problem solving based on your HW and SW capabilities.

You will be required to develop characterization and optimization test methodologies and define the necessary measurement assets and analysis methods to ensure our products' line performance. You will work closely with silicon design teams, physical-interfaces IP vendors, and standards committee teams.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. Electrical Engineer with over 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Lab hands-on experience in high-speed signal measurement.
  • Experience with debugging at circuit board level problems in analog and digital domains using lab equipment.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and statistical analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of very high-speed digital communication test methodologies.
  • Operating test equipment such as high-end Oscilloscopes, VNA, TDR, BERT's, etc.
  • Programming skills at one or more language such C++/python/MATLAB.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, transmission line theory, analog circuits, and high-speed.
  • Highly motivated team player.
  • Technical leadership experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
