Profile
We are looking for a Specialist Software Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering group supporting some of our most strategic, high‑performance tier‑1 clients. Our teams work at the core of mission‑critical trading and clearing systems—technology that underpins fast‑moving financial markets where reliability, speed, and precision are essential.
You will work alongside talented engineers who are passionate about building robust, scalable, and high‑quality software. As a Specialist Software Engineer, you will take ownership of one or more medium‑complexity components, contributing across the full software development lifecycle—including design (with guidance), implementation, code reviews, estimations, and testing. You will work on performance‑sensitive systems, where deep C++ expertise is preferred due to the nature of the products we build.
In this environment, you will work closely with senior engineers and architects, gaining exposure to best‑in‑class engineering practices used in real‑time, high‑throughput platforms. You may occasionally step in as an acting Scrum Master and will collaborate directly with clients on operational aspects related to the components you own, ensuring clarity and smooth delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Should be responsible for a specific functional or technical area.
Analyse the requirements, embed the changes into the current design with mentorship, code, test and merge the components/ tools/ libraries with the highest standards. Applicable for both functional and non-functional aspects.
Ability to perform accurate estimates on implementation changes on the responsible areas
Follow the SDLC practices and standards according to the company policies and guidelines
Ability to shadow certain Tech lead tasks as the need arises at least for short periods (example – Scrum master role)
Ability to communicate clearly on the components under his responsibility with both internal and external interested parties
Work closely with these teams in order to discover problems and opportunities for improvement.
Ability to configure and automate and maintain continues integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines to support software integration and deployment (with guidance)
Candidate Profile / Key Skills
Computer Science or Engineering degree from a recognized, accredited university
Very good understanding of object-oriented analysis and design.
Hands on experience in C++, Java or Python (2+ years).
Experience in building solutions by integrating open source and third party components.
Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients, staff and vendors.
