Join NVIDIA as a Hardware Applications Engineer to support DRIVE technologies across pre-sales, design to manufacturing for autonomous vehicle platforms. You will own technical relationships with customers and partners, help develop automotive ECU architectures, and provide hands-on training and demonstrations of NVIDIA's DRIVE Hyperion Platform, AI in vehicles, and DRIVE Constellation for in-vehicle verification. The automotive industry is at disruption and NVIDIA is at the forefront of the autonomous vehicle revolution, powering many key solutions for major car manufacturers around the world. We are engaged in the key areas of automotive business where visual computing and AI matters: AI Cockpit and Autonomous Vehicles (AV).

Autonomous vehicles need a supercomputer on wheels, it is an AI and SW heavy computational challenge. There is no off-the-shelf platform which stands up to this challenge, so we are building our own.

What you'll be doing:

We are looking for a Hardware Applications Engineer to complement our team. Candidates will be responsible for technical aspects of supporting customers with NVIDIA DRIVE technologies. This will involve supporting customers from pre-sales activities through design to manufacturing, production and sustaining, as well as responding to all technical inquiries in a professional and proficient manner. The successful candidate should be a self-motivated individual who can prioritize multiple customers simultaneously and have excellent interpersonal skills. At the same time, you will need to understand team priority and be an outstanding teammate. We are looking for your expertise in to complement our team by:

  • Being an industry inspiring leader on integrating NVIDIA technologies like DRIVE Hyperion Platform, AI into vehicles, and DRIVE Constellation for verification & validation of embedded systems in-vehicle.

  • Building and owning close technical relationship with customers and partners.

  • Working with customers to develop new and groundbreaking Automotive ECU architectures through pre-sales and proof of concepts, all the way through productization.

  • Training customers on new NVIDIA technologies through hands-on workshops and product demonstrations.

  • Interpreting customer architecture requirements and seek to tackle technical challenges.

What we need to see:

  • BS or equivalent degree in EE/CE/CS engineering field or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Knowledge on processor/SoC interfaces (e.g. USB, SPI, UART, I2C, I2S, PCIe, CSI, HDMI / DisplayPort) and memory subsystem design, both at an electrical and protocol level

  • Knowledge of power supplies (e.g. PMIC, DC/DC, LDO)

  • Proficient with reading and navigating through hardware design collateral such as schematics, layout, technical specifications, and 3D CAD files

  • Possess strong organizational skills with a logical approach to problem solving, time management and task prioritization skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with Automotive systems, Vehicle E/E architecture, ECU architecture and sensor technologies (Imaging sensors/RADAR/LIDAR/USS)

  • System level debugging skills including ASIC, digital/analog circuits, power, low-level software / firmware, thermal, EMC, reliability, etc.

  • Experience with PCB design - schematic / layout creation, PCB fabrication flow, board bring-up, and technical debug

  • Prior experience with documenting technical specifications and requirements

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 116,000 USD - 189,750 USD for Level 2, and 136,000 USD - 218,500 USD for Level 3.
