Join NVIDIA's 2026 Hardware Physical Design / VLSI internships for a 12-week, full-time program. You will work on projects with NVIDIA's hardware teams, applying synthesis, timing analysis, place-and-route, CAD/PD methodologies, and back-end verification. We seek students pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields, with experience in EDA tools and Verilog/C/C++/TCL.

Throughout the 12-week minimum full-time internship, students will work on projects that have a measurable impact on our business. We’re looking for students pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree within a relevant or related field.

What we need to see:

Must be actively enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, for the entire duration of the internship.

Course or internship experience related to the following areas could be required:

  • Synthesis, Static Timing Analysis, Clock/Power Distribution and Analysis, RC Extraction and Correlation, Place and Route, Circuit Design

  • VLSI, Computer Architecture, Digital/Micro Electronics, Mixed-Signal Design, Digital Design, Logic Design

  • CAD and Physical Design Methodologies (Flow and Tools Development), Chop Floorplan, Power/Clock Distribution, Packaging, P&R (Place and Route) and Timing Closure

  • Chip Floor Plan, Power/Clock Distribution, Chip Assembly, Timing Closure, Power and Noise Analysis, and Back-End Verification

  • EDA Vendor (Synopsys, Cadence, Mentor, etc.) tool suites such as: ICC2, PrimeTime, dc_shell, Innovus, SeaHawk

Depending on the internship role, prior experience or knowledge requirements could include the following programming skills and technologies:

  • Perl, C, C++, TCL, SPICE, Linux, Verilog, SKILL, Make, ICC2, Design Compiler, PrimeTime (Synopsys, First Encounter), Innovus, Virtuoso (Cadence)

Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay based on the position, your location, year in school, degree, and experience. The hourly rate for our interns is 20 USD - 71 USD.

You will also be eligible for Intern benefits.
