Develop and maintain safety-critical firmware and middleware for ARM-based CPUs on NVIDIA Tegra platforms, including platform bring-up, driver porting and integration. Collaborate with architecture, hardware, and software teams to design scalable, reusable embedded software that enables NVIDIA platforms to run safety-critical applications. Take ownership of project deliverables across platforms and support current and future hardware generations, with strong emphasis on ARM architecture, C programming and RTOS experience. Familiarity with multiple RTOS is advantageous.

NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 fueled the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world.

This is our life’s work — to amplify human imagination and intelligence. NVIDIA Tegra platform is at the forefront of the computing revolution and providing powerful solutions for embedded and automotive markets. Now, we are now looking for a System Software Engineer in Automotive or Embedded field! You will work directly in developing or integrating NVIDIA software technologies into various NVIDIA Tegra platforms, including platform bring up, driver porting and integration, use case development, and problem solving. The candidate might work with the other team to provide deep technical assistance and also assist HW to achieve fully optimized design with NVIDIA products and provide HW feedback as to product features and software improvements.

As a valued member of our team, your primary responsibility will be to develop safety-critical firmware and middleware specifically designed for ARM-based CPUs. Your role will directly contribute to the advancement of NVIDIA’s automotive autonomous software, supporting both current and future generation hardware platforms. In this position, familiarity with more than one RTOS is considered advantageous.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design, develop and maintain embedded software for ARM based CPUs that enables NVIDIA platforms to run safety‑critical applications.

  • Collaborate with architecture, hardware and other software teams to design SW with a focus on scalability and re-usability across platforms.

  • Take ownership of project deliverables by ensuring successful deployment of solutions across platforms.

What we need to see:

  • B.Tech or M.Tech (or equivalent experience) degree in EE/CS or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in a software development role.

  • Proficiency in C programming and low-level driver experience with strong expertise in system-level debugging.

  • Excellent debugging and analytical skills.

  • Expertise in ARM CPU architecture and associated SW development.

  • Experience in at least one production-grade RTOS.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Skilled in using automation and generative AI tools.

  • Expertise in more than one RTOS (e.g., SafeRTOS, Zephyr), enabling seamless interoperable SW development for embedded systems

  • Experience in developing ISO26262 based safety critical SW for ASIL-D systems.

  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

  • Schedule oriented with excellent execution abilities

NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you!
