General Summary:

The camera software team is looking for talented software engineers experienced in the development of software for mobile and devices. The camera software team is responsible for delivering camera drivers, HAL, and post-processing features for Snapdragon chipsets, providing best-in-class performance, power, and image quality.

This role involves working at all layers of the camera software stack, from Android Camera HAL implementation to low-level hardware control. The role includes exposure to camera technologies such as 3A, ISP, and camera sensors, as well as integration with motion sensors, video encoders, DSPs, GPU, and display.

Responsibilities

Design and develop new camera software features
Support new hardware and platforms
Debug issues within the software
Optimize software for performance and power
Develop unit tests
Work with partners and OEMs

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software development for mobile or platforms
Strong programming skills in C and C++
Experience with object-oriented programming
Multi-threaded programming experience

Preferred Qualifications

History of development of Android HAL components
Strong C++ skills
6+ years of experience with APIs
6+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization
IoT development and project leadership experience is a big plus
Linux kernel or user-space development experience
Experience working with real-time systems (Linux or Android)
Experience with camera, ISP, algorithms, or V4L2
Experience in the development of drivers and frameworks for multimedia systems, including camera, audio, video, AR/VR, CV, display, or graphics
Interest and experience with camera components such as 3A, ISP, actuator, image processing, and camera sensors
Self-driven engineering leadership with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal guidance
Ability to design extensible software to support evolving requirements
Strong understanding of software APIs, testing, and maintainability
Good teamwork and effective cross-team communication

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
