As a member of the Qualcomm Japan Customer Engineering Team, the candidate will be responsible for supporting Qualcomm customers are using Snapdragon chipsets in Automotive segment. The role requires close communication with both customers and internal development or engineering teams to understand customer requirements and system design. The candidate will be a member of Qualcomm's Display and Graphics Software Customer Engineering team, end-to-end debugging and log analysis of issues on the chipsets and Qualcomm’s embedded platforms – primarily supporting Linux or Android and QNX - hypervisor based software on Snapdragon platform, hardware interfaces, device drivers, Display and Graphics processors, kernel and high level OS/framework/APIs etc. Travel to customer site and to Qualcomm offices in U.S. and abroad for support, meetings and trainings may be required.

General Summary:

Skills/Experience:
• Embedded software knowledge, Experience on device driver development for any of embedded OS(Android, Linux, QNX etc).
• Understanding of Operating System concepts, RTOS, FW management.
• Understanding of System level features, Processor and Power management, architecting system level features.
• Understanding of display and graphics technologies, Linux/Android software stack, kernel, Display/GPU processing etc.
• Strong C/C++/Python programming skills
• Hands on experience in complex and multi domain large features.
• Problem solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to co-ordinate across stakeholders and Task management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• Embedded OS (Kernel architecture, OS services heap, memory, multi-core, multi-threading, and crash debugging).
• Knowledge of OS/system performance profiling and optimization techniques.
• Communication, written & interpersonal skills, motivation, the ability to learn quickly. Must be a self-starter.
• Japanese language (Native, to have close communication with Japanese customers)
• English language (to collaborate with engineers in the other country, US, APAC, India etc)
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of experience with debugging techniques.
