Lead the design, development, and deployment of rack management software for AI accelerator products in data center environments. This role covers provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, and lifecycle management across heterogeneous hardware and software stacks, with integration to Kubernetes, Terraform, and Foreman. Responsibilities include BMC manageability (Redfish-based REST, IPMI), hardware component interfaces (BMC, PDU, CDU, PCIe switches, multi-SoC), and automated telemetry pipelines and dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana. Collaborate with APPS FW, silicon, kernel teams, ODMs, ISVs to deliver scalable platform management while ensuring security and compliance.

Company:

Qualcomm India Private Limited

Job Area:

Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering

General Summary:

Overview

Qualcomm is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of rack management software for AI accelerator products in data center environments. This role spans provisioning, monitoring, orchestration, and lifecycle management across heterogeneous hardware and software stacks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement software solutions for rack‑level provisioning, monitoring, and workload deployment, integrating seamlessly with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Foreman.
  • Develop, enhance, and validate server‑side BMC manageability features, including Redfish‑based REST interfaces, IPMI command handling (sensor data, FRU, SDR, SEL, OEM), and system‑level diagnostics.
  • Interface with rack hardware components—BMC, PDU, CDU, PCIe switches, and multi‑SoC platforms—using Redfish, SNMP, IPMI, and other management protocols.
  • Build and maintain automated, scalable telemetry pipelines and dashboards using Prometheus, Grafana, and internal monitoring frameworks.
  • Design and implement JSON‑based automation scripts for configuration, validation, regression execution, and rack‑level test orchestration.
  • Debug and validate I²C‑based sensor communication (EEPROM, power/voltage/temperature monitors, muxes) and support board bring‑up/debug for Ultra+ and multi‑SoC AI hardware.
  • Support firmware updates, crash dump analysis, remote diagnostics, and cross‑component issue triage across rack‑level infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with APPS FW, silicon teams, kernel developers, ODMs, ISVs, and cross‑functional internal teams to deliver robust and scalable platform management solutions.
  • Ensure security and compliance across rack infrastructure, including secure boot, VLAN isolation, and QoS enforcement for multi‑tenant environments.
  • Contribute to software EBOM, system diagrams, design documents, protocol specifications, and documentation for internal and partner consumption.
  • Build and maintain a unified rack management dashboard consolidating health, performance, orchestration status, and telemetry.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure software development.
  • Experience with Redfish APIs and DCIM tools (e.g., Sunbird, Schneider Electric).
  • Familiarity with Foreman, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet for provisioning and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware, networking, and storage systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OpenBMC tools like Gigabyte Pod Manager.
  • Knowledge of AI workload orchestration tools (e.g., Kubeflow, K8s).

Exposure to scalable telemetry systems and log aggregation pipelines.

  • Familiarity with rack-level lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, and shell scripting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
