General Summary:

Qualcomm XR Research India is expanding rapidly and seeking engineers with strong skills in software development, performance analysis, and power optimization for cutting‑edge XR solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams to understand algorithms and software implementations, analyze power optimization opportunities, and develop strategies to reduce overall system power across diverse XR use cases.

  • Evaluate hardware–software tradeoffs and propose solutions that improve compute efficiency, memory usage, and overall power performance.

  • Implement, port, and optimize software for XR technologies including perception, computer vision, and image processing on Qualcomm platforms.

  • Apply advanced optimization techniques such as ARM Neon, Qualcomm HVX, tiling, unrolling, prefetching, cache‑efficient pipelines, DDR‑traffic minimization, and optimized multithreading.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience in software development, performance optimization or power optimization, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated expertise in software performance evaluation and optimizations using techniques including SIMD (HVX/ARM-Neon/x86-SSE), Halide, CUDA, optimal tiling, unrolling, prefetching, DDR‑traffic minimization and multithreading.

  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, multicore CPU/DSP architecture, and system‑level performance/power considerations.

  • Excellent analytical & communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of power fundamentals and multimedia software frameworks, including camera, sensor, video, or audio pipelines.

  • Prior experience with Qualcomm platforms, SoC IPs and architecture, software optimizations for power and performance.

  • Proficiency in C++ software design and development for multi-core architectures (CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, etc.)

  • Basics of XR technologies including perception, computer vision, and image processing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
